The NIS Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo, confirmed the probe in a statement released on Sunday.

The video shows Mrs. Igiebor destroying her husband’s passport, sparking concern among the public. The NIS considers her actions a potential violation of Section 10 (b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), which prohibits the willful destruction of Nigerian travel documents. The act outlines specific penalties for such offenses. The NIS remains dedicated to enforcing the Immigration Act strictly, safeguarding national security, and preserving Nigeria’s legal and diplomatic integrity.
