Tinubu Reappoints Adaji as DG Boundary Commission

President Bola Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Surv. Adamu Adaji as the Director General of the National Boundary Commission (NBC) for a second term12. This decision comes after Adaji’s impressive track record of exceptional performance, which has significantly transformed the NBC and advanced boundary management in Nigeria since the agency’s inception.

President Tinubu’s approval grants Adaji a second and final term of four years as DG of the NBC. The appointment is effective from August 7, 2024. Adaji’s emoluments and other conditions of service are as provided under the Certain Political, Public, and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2008.

Adaji holds an MSc in Land Surveying from Ahmadu Bello University and an MPA in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri. He joined the NBC in 1992 as an Assistant Chief Surveyor and rose through the ranks to become the Director before being appointed as the substantive DG in August 2020.

Adaji’s reappointment is expected to further expand the Agency’s scope of operations. The NBC oversees boundary management in Nigeria’s 86 interstate boundary communities and international boundaries.
