Lagos, Nigeria – Mrs. Igiebor, the woman who recently made headlines for tearing her husband’s passport at Lagos Airport, has finally broken her silence. Known for her presence on TikTok, where she shares content about her family life, Igiebor revealed the motivations behind her controversial actions.
According to Igiebor, the passport-tearing incident was not an impulsive act. She explained that family issues had been simmering for a long time, even before their return to Nigeria from Europe. The couple had faced ongoing challenges, and Igiebor felt compelled to take drastic action.
In a video posted on Monday, Igiebor shared her side of the story. “This issue has been going on for a long time,” she said. “I have gone through so many things. I have my own reasons.” She emphasized that her actions were not those of a “mad woman” but rather a response to years of pain and neglect.
Igiebor explained that she deliberately tore her husband’s passport in Nigeria to spare him additional stress. “What if I had done this thing in Europe, where we came from?” she questioned. “I don’t want him to go through much stress, which is why I did it in Nigeria.”
The emotional video revealed Igiebor’s frustration with her husband’s family dynamics. She described her husband as a “mother’s boy” and expressed her suffering as the wife. “I did what I did for him to know that I’ve been bearing the pain,” she said. “My husband should come out and say what happened.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched a formal investigation into the incident. Igiebor’s actions could potentially violate Section 10 (b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), which prohibits the willful destruction of Nigerian travel documents1.
Mrs. Igiebor’s passport-tearing act has sparked public interest and raised questions about family dynamics and emotional strain. As the investigation unfolds, Nigerians await further details on the events that led to this dramatic airport scene.
